David Ruvolo

David Ruvolo was with the World History Center from 2013 through 2019. He was originally brought on as the Project Manager for the Collaborative for Historical Information and Analysis (CHIA), a grant funded research project that ran until 2015. He later served in a variety of roles for the Center including Research Project Manager, Center Coordinator, and Managing Editor for the Journal of World Historical Information and Managing Editor for the Journal of World Systems Research. 

David did his undergraduate work at West Virginia University where he studied English Literature with minors in Philosophy and Religious Studies.  His graduate work was at Florida International University in Religious Studies with a focus on Chinese Buddhism (specifically Taoist influences on Chan Buddhism, Huineng and the Platform Sutra, Sudden and Gradual Schools).  He served as Adjunct Faculty between 2000-2001 teaching courses in World Religions and Religious Studies: Analysis and Interpretation. 

David moved to the Institute of Politics at Pitt in January of 2020.
