Katherine Hart

Kathy has her master’s degree in Library and Information Science from LSU and specializes in both print and digital map collections at libraries at Texas A&M University, Rice University and Library of Congress.  Most recently she was Section Head at the Library of Congress, Geography and Map Division, where she led the reference, digitization, acquisitions and Congressional Cartography teams.  She’s a member of the ALA’s Map and Geographic Information Round Table and is past co-editor of the Journal of Map and Geography Libraries.  Kathy co-founded the GeoHumanities Special Interest Group of ADHO, and serves on the World-Historical Gazetteer Advisory Board.
