Congratulations to World History Center Director Dr. Ruth Mostern on her election as the Vice President of the World History Association (WHA). As the Vice President, Dr. Mostern is also the WHA’s President-elect, and she will succeed the current president in 2026 for a two-year term. In this role, Dr. Mostern will help the WHA’s Executive Council shape the agenda of the organization.

The World History Association (WHA) is a professional association of scholars, teachers, and students organized to promote world history by encouraging teaching, research, publications, and personal interactions. Each year, the WHA’s annual meeting brings together more than three hundred academic historians, college instructors, and secondary school teachers to share new and innovative research and teaching in the field of World History. In the summer of 2023, the World History Center hosted the WHA’s annual conference at the University of Pittsburgh. Read more about it here!
