Pitt Will Host 2023 World History Association Annual Conference!

The World History Center is thrilled to announce that the 2023 World History Association annual conference will be held at the University of Pittsburgh from 22-24 June 2023!

The World History Association (WHA) is a professional organization of scholars, teachers, and students organized to promote world history through research, publication, and teaching. Its mission is to advance scholarship and teaching within transnational, transregional, and transcultural perspectives. The WHA is the preeminent professional organization in the field of World History. Each year, the WHA’s annual meeting brings together more than three hundred academic historians, college instructors, and secondary school teachers to share new and innovative research and teaching in the field of World History.

Home to the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, the University Center for International Studies, and the World History Center, the University of Pittsburgh has a long tradition of support for globally-facing teaching and scholarship. From its industrial legacies to the patterns of migration that have made it a global city, Pittsburgh is a place of numerous and contested narratives about the global past.
